CARROLL ACADEMY LADY JAGS VOLLEYBALL TEAM – Team members are: Chelsea Whittemore, Kattie Simon, Heather Todd, Augusta Darnell, and Stephanie Cox; Kiara Shivers, Kayla Kendall, Katie Kendall, Brianna Kintner, and Jonnie Yarbrough.

For the first time in Carroll Academy’s history, a sports team has earned state ranking, while breaking school records. The Carroll Academy Lady Jags volleyball team has won 10 matches and 37 games against opponents such as: Humboldt, Gibson County, South Gibson, Milan, Halls, Hardin County, Jackson Northside, TCA, and Scotts Hill.
They are ranked #7 in the Class A state volleyball poll. At one time during the season, they climbed to #5.
When they played Gibson County, Carroll Academy made 113 of 115 serves for a 98 percent accuracy rate. Their season average is 88 percent.
Two team members have been selected as Region 7A All- Region players. They are attacker/blocker Heather Todd, an 11th grade student with 236 kills, and outside hitter Augusta Darnell, a ninth grade student at the school.
Of the 13 girls enrolled at Carroll Academy, 10 play volleyball.
The Lady Jags will play in the region 7A semi-finals against Trenton on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The action will take place at Halls and will begin at 4 p.m. The winner of this meeting will advance to sub-state. The team is coached by Randy Hatch-head coach, and Patrick Steele-assistant coach.
